Course Description:
Cross listed course: SOC 014.
Explores the social, historical, economic and political construction of race and ethnicity, and the systematic aspect of racial/ethnic stratification. Focus on the sociological analysis of racial/ethnic relations in the U.S. Examination of immigration issues, colorblindness, white privilege, social and racial justice, and the intersectionality of race, class, and gender. No credit if taken after SOC 014 or SOC 014H. Total of 54 hours lecture.
